  • Paul Reid, Chair

    Paul Reid has spent most of his life working in small and medium sized businesses in the areas of sales, management and ownership capacities. He presently works as a Business Development Officer with the City of Greater Sudbury. In this capacity he devotes his time to retaining current businesses and attracting new businesses to Sudbury, particularly in the mining supply and service sector. Paul holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Laurentian University and has held the titles of President of the Sudbury and District Chamber of Commerce, Secretary Treasurer of Sudbury 2001 and Chairman of the Laurentian Hospital Foundation.

  • R A Sandy MacDonald, Vice-Chair

    Sandy is currently an owner of Cross Financial, a privately held partnership that manages stock, bond and financial holdings. After leaving the RCMP he enjoyed many years of experience in the coportate insurance risk management and finance sector dealing with financial institutions in a number of points in Canada and been the Corporate Marketing Manager for NRCS, largest Disability Management firm in Canada. Sandy is active in the community as director treasurer of Crime Stoppers, Big Brothers Big Sisters, ANC Housing Corp. and past director of Sudbury Credit Union. He represents Nickel Basin on three provincial CFDC committees.

  • Brigitte Bere, Secretary

    Originally from Leipzig, Germany, Brigitte moved to Sudbury in 1975. After pursuing studies in the area of Fine Arts she began working in the Communications Department at Laurentian University. Soon after, she became a small business owner, acquiring Nickel Printing Corporation, now known as Nickel Acme Printers Inc. As Vice-President of this company, Brigitte has experienced all of the challenges and triumphs that small owners are faced with and can directly relate to the majority of our Nickel Basin clients. She is also actively involved in the community serving as Vice-President of the Northern Ontario Artist Association and the Treasurer of the Sudbury Art Club.

  • Michelle Mailloux

    Since 1975, Michelle has practiced law as a student under articles passing the bar in ’77 with the Law Society of Upper Canada. Her extensive experience as a sole practitioner specializing in Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial Law, Estate Planning and Administration and advising as well as a high emphasis on family law until the late 1980s has led her to her current position serving as a Deputy Judge, Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court. Over the years, Michelle has been involved extensively with many community projects, including United Way/Centraide Sudbury & District as well as Big Sisters of Sudbury and other notable organizations. A bilingual native of Sudbury and alumni of Laurentian University, Mrs. Mailloux contributions have benefited many.

    Catherine (Debassige) Roque is Senior Account Manager, BDC Aboriginal Banking, Ontario.

    Since joining BDC in 2007, Catherine has been helping First Nation, Metis and Inuit entrepreneurs identify their financial management needs. In her current role, she connects clients with financing solutions and management advisory services that turn ideas into results, helping Aboriginal entrepreneurs operating in Ontario.

    Catherine’s passion is building Aboriginal-owned enterprises. She works tirelessly to create new business relationships, enhance business networks, and promote the Aboriginal entrepreneurial spirit by collaborating with other lenders, the Aboriginal Financial Institution network, and related service agencies.

    Catherine is a member of M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island and has family connections with Wahnapitae First Nation.

  • Pat Dubreuil

    Pat Dubreuil is currently President of Let’s Roll ‘Ideation’ Consulting. His consultancy specializes in business development for the regional to international markets. Pat holds a MBA and an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Business Administration. He has experience in industrial manufacturing, engineering, post-secondary education, and telecommunications industry. Pat has held positions as Vice -President of Business development & Marketing with BESTECH, General Manager for Fuller Industrial and Director of Sales for Les Entreprises Boréal, where each role included responsibility for strategic business development, market segmentation and the coordination of sales teams. Possessing strong financial management skills, he has also held positions as Financial Administrator for the Roman Catholic Diocese in Sault Ste. Marie and as budget manager for Le College Boréal.

    Fluently bilingual in English and French, Pat possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills and has shrewd head for business. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling with his family and being a board member of the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.

  • Guy Beaulieu

    Graduated in 1990 from Laurentian University with a Bachelor in Commerce. Obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1992 and worked at Collins Barrow Chartered Accountants. In September 1993 started to work for businessman Gabe Belanger as Comptroller of several companies. Guy has worked with many small business owners during the years. He also has experience in the industrial and residential sector being involved in subdivision development and sales. In addition to managing lottery kiosks, was the owner of a family restaurant for over 10 years in Chelmsford.

    Currently the controller for Carriere Industrial supply limited. He has over twenty-five years of finance and management experience with special expertise in business process re-engineering, finance, financial analysis, cost accounting, operations and project management. Dale holds a Certified General Accountant designation as well as a Certified Financial Planner designation.

  • Pierre Perrin

    A lifetime resident of the Sudbury Area, Pierre has been involved in the commercial and industrial mechanical industry since 1981 and has had an active role in trade education. He has served as a Deputy Director of R.S.E.S. at the national and local level as well as a member of a Provincial Advisory Committee responsible for revising the Training, Education and Certification guidelines for the Ministry. Pierre founded Piper Mechanical Systems in 1994 and believes the business community should strive to support new economic development in the region.

    Mike is a lifetime Sudburian, born and raised in Coniston and attended Laurentian University where he earned his Honours Bachelor of Commerce. He is the Chief Operations Officer at Sudbury Credit Union Limited and is a Certified Financial Planner. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Sudbury Food Bank, is a member of the Parish Finance Committee of his Church and is married and the proud Father of the three
    wonderful children.
